The Impossible Claw is a claw machine based game that used magnets to instead of a claw. The aim of the game is to pick up as many tires covered with magnets as possible using the magnets in 30 seconds.
We decided to make the Claw Machine because we thought it would be a cool idea for a robotics game but we underestimated how much work would need to go into it to make it work as intended. The main issues with the machine is the design we had for the movement of the claw, the way it was made prevented the machine from moving from side to side, only forward and back. This limited what we were able to do with the game and how we set up the tires to be picked up. a way to improve this would be to redesign how we moved the claw around and make it more efficient. Reflecting on the machine we would need to over hall the whole design of the claw movement and make the claw open and close instead of using magnets and weights.
