Revolution is a Top-Down-Shooter game where you as the player control a single cube person on a big adventure. This game features 13+ levels and 4 waves. Each wave increasing the difficulty and challenge for the player. Every time the player beats a wave, the player unlocks more and more guns to use in their arsenal. The player can also unlock power-ups to blast past enemies, or mow them down. It currently features 2 powers up: Speed-up & Ammo Box.
The state the game currently is in right now is v1.1. This update includes a main menu, secrets, Easter eggs, ending depending on score or if player activates cheats. The game currently only features one cheat: God Mode.
This game was made in around 20+ hours.
Revolution is a Top-Down Shooter inspired (not really) by Enter the Gungeon.
The aim is to shoot at all your enemies to progress through multiple stages, your gun upgrades along the way, becoming more powerful, but having downsides. While progressing through waves, the player will be able to collect powerups such as: Extreme Burst & Speed Increase, these will aid you in mowing down your enemies with ease.
Revolution has its share of secrets littered around the game for the player the find, dropping a few hints if you read the Update Log. Another thing is if the player finds themselves to be having a hard time, they may enable God Mode, however, doing so will not allow the player to access the secret stage (In future), but they can still play the main game normally.
Revolution features relatively simple controls, upon pressing play, you will be taught how to move & fire, the further along you go with Revolution, you will continue to be taught about acquiring new weapons & powerups.
You control this blocky person, you start out with an Uzi, to Shotgun, & then Burst Assault Rifle. You will encounter different types of enemies, ones who are faster or smaller, even both! And will do whatever to back you into a corner.
However, you do have assistants on your side, you can these your powerups to get you out of these situations.
Blocky enemies are not the only thing dangerous thing to kill you. On Stage 3, you will have to deal with lasers which will appear at the top or bottom of the stages.
Overall, Revolution will hopefully be fun for anyone who plays it, there is tons of content to find & enjoy. Revolution may be getting more updates, example being the “What’s New?” for future content.
Revolution was a fun project for me, it helped me understand If & Else values & using Score to my advantage. It was definitely a challenge to get everything working, such as stages saving, instead of going back to stage 1.
