Carrion is one of the first ever Reverse Horror Games to be ever created and is adored by those who play it, including me! Carrion puts you into the boots of a parasitic specimen whose goal is first unknown at the beginning, you learn more about the history of this specimen throughout your gameplay and you slowly upgrade your character throughout the game itself.
Fun Factor: 9/10
Despite a weird looking beginning, the game is very fun to play. For the first time, you aren’t being hunted by the killer, you are the killer. It also activates your problem-solving skills as you need to evade and attack humans in the middle of the game as some have equipped themselves with guns, flamethrowers and even mechanical gun turrets. This game has a great introduction with a very clean tutorial that allows the player to comfortably shift into the game.
Control and gameplay: 10/10
The controls are very fluid and are very comfortable for first time players, and the gameplay itself is brought very clean and well through the creative design of it. I loved how dependent on a specific circumstance, you could be able to use a different ability from the same button.
Graphics: 10/10
The Pixel art that is used to make this game is brought well together and makes you kind of feel as if you’re playing a very well made arcade game simulation. The pixel art fits so well as it allowed the creators to get the right amount of detail to create the perfect creatures and humans, and I prefer its 2D, 4th wall directional view compared to a 3D look.
Sound: 10/10
The sound is very immersive and there is always a quiet background music to each area, the sounds from the character that the player controls make you actually feel like you are the creature itself and everything is organic and feels absolutely real.
Replay ability: 10/10
The replayability of this game is great. It always feels so different since it’s a maze type of setting, the different areas in the map all lead back to each other and it’s always fun as this game allows you to torment the humans in these games with your growls and powers and it is rather fun to play just to get the achievements.
