My game is about the player, a robot, whose objective is to collect items to collect items to make different builds with them to find one that suits you best. This culminates when you fight the boss at the end of the game.
This is the success criteria from my initial project pitch.
- 2D movement (side to side, jumping)
- At least 3 different components, meaning 3 different melee attacks, ranged attacks and a movement option.
- Add at least 2 different enemies and a boss
- At least 2 upgrades that allow for backtracking
One feature I am proud of is the inventory system, which wile it took too long to make, I am happy with how it came out.
I think overall, I should have spent less time trying to get my inventory to work, and more time creating enemies and the boss at the end, which is currently only spawning in about half the time. If I were to start over, I would focus more on getting the combat and world to work before working on an inventory. If I had a couple more weeks I believe that I would have finished my game fully, but that is on me as others achieved this in the given time.
