In the Great Eggscape, two eggs must escape an evil frying pan chasing them along farmland, destroying everything in its path. These two eggs must use their powers to defeat the evil frying pan and his minions, “flying pans”.
I am proud of the sprites of the game, as well as the coding that I learned while making it. Before this project I knew no coding for Gamemaker Studio 2, but now I use coding for most things I do in the program, often with little difficulty. During the development of the game I faced many problems. An example of this is when I needed to figure out how to make it so that the eggs only do damage to the frying pan whiles using their abilities. To do this I improvised with some coding instead of deciding to ask for help. If I were to start over, I would do many things differently. I would use coding in the “step” event to control all player movement instead to make it easier to avoid one of the major bugs in the game which is caused by collision masks and my movement system. I would also change the concept of the game.
